I really like this concept of literary prostitution.

It is absolute lunacy. I have been a working writer for Facebook for over a decade, and they have never paid me. In fact, now they hold the contact details of my network hostage and require me to pay them for ads and boosts in order for my connections to see what I am sharing. All bow to the authority of the almighty algorithm. Seems like a bum deal to me.

Happy birthday to you! I've been thoroughly stimulated by your work. Thank you. That graph is on point. It's refreshing to finally step into a space where writing, community, and friendships flourish.

Thank you so much Nadia. In many ways it was a painful transition for me, to go from being publicly shamed on traditional social media and then having the pain of that experience push me to find my way over here to Substack. But now I’m much happier putting my energy here.

There’s nothing better than the feeling we get when we find out that what we’re putting out is received. Grateful for your presence here and for your support!

I read about your experience, and that must have been so awful and lonesome to go through. I'm sorry for the hardships you faced, the stress it caused you. It's good you're here, and I hope you keep feeling supported. For a similar reason, I decided to leave a community where that kind of group behavior is still prevalent (and I sadly participated a few times in that when I thought I was standing up for the community, which I feel deeply ashamed of now). Substack is a breath of fresh air, and the people here are kind and thoughtful.
