Thank you for putting our feelings into words, Wendy. How I wish our class could have four more years together now with the wisdom and lessons we've learned.
That would be amazing… I guess we’re now attending Life as the university, and we can still share notes across the interwebs which is probably the next best thing!
Resonated deeply, from the importance of critical thinking to that weekend being one that offered a surprisingly lovely sense of belonging… so glad you shared this!!
Thank you for reading and reflecting that. There are so many things that wanted to be expressed coming out of that weekend so it was hard to focus on just one theme! glad that the meandering topics “made sense” somehow
I so appreciate this reflection. My relationship with Harvard is complicated, and you so eloquently explained the post-graduation distance and the brilliance of the connections we experienced during reunion.
It is indeed complicated. I think many of us are probably revisiting and rewriting our relationship with it now. it feels good for me being more intentional about how we engage and also taking the power back in actively shaping that dynamic instead of just passively receiving it!
I so love this piece, Wendy! Reading your thoughts helped me take my own breath and think about my reunion experience -- all the powerful takeaways. Thank you for writing and sharing.
Would you mind if I post a shout out about your substack, and in particular this post, on our bumpin class WhatsApp group?
It’s super comforting to know that I’m not the only one who feels/felt this way. Thanks for helping me to connect with you through this shared experience.
