I am feeling tired today. But not just the I-didn’t-sleep-enough kind of tired. I mean, I feel existentially tired. Exhausted from the running in circles on the money matrix energy harvesting machine, screaming “look at me!” (even if it’s just screaming silently).
Whether we are waiting for, or working towards, the big break in the future that is somehow going to make things way easier, it’s all a bunch of bullshit keeping us in “not yet” and “still striving”.
When I stop to sift through the subtle messages that have infiltrated my brain, it’s no wonder. There’s a veritable army of thought forms floating around telling me that I should be doing more of this, or doing more of that. More followers. More page views. More email subscribers. More dollars.
It’s so easy, the Internet gurus say. Let me show you the way. You can work less, and earn more. Everyone is doing it. If you’re not doing it already, it’s because you’re slacking.
Have we stopped to question the fundamental belief underneath all the go-getter brainwashing? The promise of working less and earning more seems pretty sweet when we look on the surface. Don’t we all want more leisure and more resource?
But wait just one second. Are we worshipping Instagram experts and TikTok idols who are teaching us ways to give less and get more? Does that sound like an aligned path of sacred service to you? It sounds like poorly plastic-wrapped extraction to me.
At least, it’s somewhat of a pyramid scheme, where those who came before you are selling you a pipe dream — intentionally or unconsciously. They’re often hiding (or forgetting) all the hard work they’ve done behind the scenes, or failing to acknowledge luck or timing.
There is absolutely a need for financial empowerment from a place of deep inner sourcing, but unfortunately most so-called abundance coaching seems to be flashing lifestyle and proffering a promise of easy money to those with money problems — without accounting for privilege or systemic factors.
We are in collective contraction, financially. Fear and uncertainty are rife. Inflation is rampant. We need more money just to survive — or rather to maintain whatever status quo we have gotten used to.
On the material plane, life is getting more expensive. The discomfort of this makes us susceptible to those peddling the promise of easy money.
As well, we are brainwashed to say, “All hail the mighty ALL-GO-RHYTHM.” The malaise of modern media is that it has perfected the dubious art of triggering your dopamine and getting you jumping for the next reward.
Most of us feel poor not because we need more, but because we fail to notice the resources we already have. How deeply conditioned is our lack mentality?
When was the last time you had a thought like…
If only I earned X money, then I would no longer have financial worries
If only my partner had X quality, then our relationship would be better
If only I could get X collaboration, then getting new clients would be easy
These programs are part of the cult of more. The conditioning of never being satisfied, no matter how much we have.
What if the biggest contribution you could make to creating a better world was being fully present where you are right now and being content with what is here already?
True abundance is infinite and universally available to all. It’s not about hours. It’s not about dollars. True abundance can’t be distilled into a quantity at all. Our soul-sourced wealth is a quality of… well-being. We receive it as a depth of richness in moments of our lived experience.
We cannot get more of this as we grasp for ownership or control in the physical realm. True abundance is a quality of life. It is the presence to reception of what is already given. It is the way we naturally experience being, when we connect with ourselves as part of Nature and remember the interdependence of everything.
This experience of abundance has nothing to do with whether we work a lot or we work very little. It’s about how we work, not how much.
If we work joyfully in tune with our body’s rhythms, moving in alignment with our values, it feels effortless because the Universe is on our team.
The experience of abundance has nothing to do with what we get paid. It is simply our natural state of being when in connection with Life.
Resources flow freely in and out, the same way we breathe — naturally and effortlessly without managing, sometimes without even noticing.
So for today at least, I invite you to opt out of that part of your brain that is always clamoring for more, and simply notice and appreciate what is here already.
